Basement Poetry Presents: “LifeTime” by Darius Foster

“LifeTime” Performance

“LifeTime” Lyrics

I’ve lived a couple lifetimes within my lifetime
Still surprised I’m in my right mind
could wait a lifetime waiting for that right time
I play with words in reverse try to rewrite time
Spent on negativity thoughts weighing heavy mentally
Cost of what heaven sent to me
Also the saddest symphony story
Live for pain in the glory’s
not your everyday struggles
Hit the floor and u start to wonder if god really loves u
Knew that she wasn’t for me
Wise words from my mother
Argumentative Horny and
Always the last rebuttal
Sprinkle lil trouble ingredients for the scampy
Cant stand heat? Well I’m Chef Ramsey with the oven
She would tell u she’s  four weeks
Ecstatic to be a mother
Preparation was poorly
The jobs that I had too juggle
Probably could of used a four leaf clover
Cause if I told u the baby was born gone is
Another tear in a puddle

What if I told you that
She knew the baby was dead a month before she gave birth to it
And she didn’t wanna tell me it because
She wanted us to still be together
That’s kinda dark right?

Yea

I’ve lived a couple lifetimes within my lifetime
Still surprised I’m in my right mind
could wait a lifetime waiting for that right time
I play with words in reverse try to rewrite time
Spent on negativity thoughts weighing heavy mentally
Cost of what heaven sent to me
Also the saddest symphony story
Live for pain in the glory’s
not your everyday struggles
Hit the floor and u start to wonder if god really loves u
Told me he wasn’t for me
Wise words from my mother
Invited to the house warming
She caught the vibes from the other side of the room
She told me watch who u room with cuz there’s lots of cologne when used to cover up bull shit
Was plotting on wronging me got clocked in the fucking face
There’s a lot of it y’all didn’t he see
Him disrespecting the space I allowed him to lay his head
he try play me on bread
I told him he had to leave he rather of seen me dead

What if I told u That
My barber that I’ve known for 4 to 5yrs
Was rooming with me at one point
We get into a fight over some stupid shit
And he stabs me 8 times
5 times in the back
2 times in the side
And sliced my face

Yea

Vibes vibes vibes vibes don’t
Lie lie lie lie
Always go with your gut
No such thing as bad luck

Vibes vibes vibes vibes don’t
Lie lie lie lie
No such thing as bad luck
Always go with your gut
